All but one county in Missouri favored Roy Blunt over Carnahan. Jackson county was the only county in the state to support Robin Carnahan over Blunt.
Just about 100% of the election votes have now been reported, and Blunt has defeated Carnahan with 54% of the votes to Carnahan’s 41%. Leading up to the 2010 election, Carnahan was trailing Blunt in all of the major polls since the primaries ended. Most people expected the Republican to win the seat, and he did.
Blunt will succeed Republican Kit Bond and take office on January 3, 2011.
