Whether you plan on watching football, boating, barbecuing, going to the beach, or just throwing a huge party, Labor Day is sure to give you time to wind down from all the work you hopefully have been doing. For those Americans who aren’t unemployed this Labor Day, industry experts expect they will be spending more money and traveling more than they did last year.
Nice weather over much of the country this Labor Day weekend will certainly please those looking to spend time on the roads or enjoy time outdoors over the 3 day hiatus from work. The American Automobile Association (AAA) has predicted that about 34.4 million Americans will be traveling 50 miles or more this Labor Day weekend. This is actually 10% more than last year. The majority of the travelers will be getting to their destination via automobile, while about 3 million will be flying.
Despite the economic conditions, it seems as though American’s are not afraid to spend money on get togethers, and Labor Day fun. This may be a precursor to a rising economic environment.
