Google got it right. Today does mark the anniversary of a very important event in U.S. History. It’s one that has allowed women in this country to gain as many rights as men. Whether they want to be a lawyer, judge, school teacher, or work-at-home mom, they now have the ability to choose what they want to do. Most of these rights that women have today were put in motion by the 19th amendment to the constitution, which was set forth on August 18, 1920.
Woodrow Wilson let the country know that he supported women’s right to vote in January of 1918, but it took Senate another year and a half to approve the amendment.
Google is a website everyone that uses the internet knows about. When they post something new on their site, just about everyone sees it. Most people would not have know that today was the anniversary of the 19th amendment, had Google not posted it on their site. Thank you Google.
