Hotel Heiress Paris Hilton, has been in the news a lot lately. Yesterday there was news of her boyfriend Cy Waits pulling a gun on an intruder at Hilton’s Los Angeles home. Today there is a bit of bad news for Paris Hilton.

While driving in a black Cadillac Escalade on the Vegas strip last night around 11:30 local time, police saw a smoke trail coming from the vehicle. Apparently they smelled the scent of marijuana, so they decided to take action.

“Officers noticed a vehicle leaving smoke trail of a controlled substance (and) made a stop based on that,” Marcus Martin, the Las Vegas police spokesman explained.

Upon searching the SUV, police found a white powdery substance that was later detected to be cocaine. The driver of the vehicle who’s name was not released has been charged with driving under the influence, while Paris Hilton has been charged with cocaine possession.

This certainly isn’t the first time Hilton has been arrested. She has been arrested for suspicion of possession of marijuana in South Africa following a World Cup match, and reckless driving back in 2007.
