Plane crashImagine relaxing on a plane on your flight to Hong Kong, while over the North Sea, the Pilot gets on the load speaker, and announces, “This is an emergency. We may shortly need to make an emergency landing on water.” Well this is just what happened yesterday to 275 passengers on the Boeing 747 flight from London to Hong Kong.

After a brief pause, in which all 275 passengers likely frantically questioned in their minds what was about to happen, thinking they were going to be in a plane crash, the cabin and crew on the plane quickly reassured passengers that the message was a mistake. Apparently the pilot hit the wrong button, as it was close to the button for the actual message he intended to play.

Michelle Lord, a 32 year old passenger on the flight said, “People were terrified, we all thought we were going to die. They said the pilot hit the wrong button because they were so close together.”

“I can’t think of anything worse than being told your plane’s about to crash,” stated another angry passenger.

This isn’t the first time an incident like this has occurred. Last year a similar scare took place on an Aer Lingus flight from Dublin to Paris.
