Damage from Earl

Hurricane Earl Damaged This Pier in N.C.

Hurricane Earl has been battering the coast of North Carolina all night long, but is finally beginning to move away from the area. The storm is now packing winds of 105 miles per hour and and has a projected path that National Hurricane Center meteorologists feel will continue it’s northeast trajectory over the next 2 days. This will give New jersey, Maryland, Delaware, and New York tropical storm force winds, heavy rain, and coastal flooding. By Saturday morning Hurricane Earl will be grazing the coast of Cape Cod, perhaps giving them winds that are hurricane force.

Overall the damage from Earl has not been too severe. Frisco Pier in Frisco North Carolina has been severely damaged. Power outages are widespread in North Carolina, and downed trees and power lines are commonplace. We are happy to report though that no major damage has occurred nor any injuries reported. Hopefully this remains the case as Earl makes his way up the US eastern seaboard.
